The want the proof? ... YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE PROOF!!

Like that?

Today the water proofing began.

In wet area's, like bathrooms and laundrys you need to apply a full waterproof coating so if the water leakes from the bath or the washing machine it can ruin the room that adjoins that room!!!

Clever huh?

In our case that the nice polished floorboards...

Any way we have applied the first coat to the bathroom and the laundry and now we live in a land of green :)

The laundry:

The wall re plastered

And the bathroom in its new layout

The new flickmixer patched

The wall all patched up

The shower base in and the wall all patched up

The storage toilet...

The plumber is in the house...

Today the plumber arrived and it was full steam ahead!

We have moved and adjusted the plumbing to suit the layout a little better.

All the taps are going to be flickmixer style so the plumbing needs to be combined into one tap and we have also decided to have the spout in a different position away from the flickmixer so that needs to be moved too.

The taps used to be on the left side of the bath ... used to be!

New tap and outlet

This is where the outlet will go

This is where the flickmixer for the bath now lives

The flickmixer for the shower is done as well

The storage toilet
We are completely changing the layout in the laundry and we have had to move the waste outlet and the taps.

big hole in plaster = new tap location...

New waste to suit new cabinet location
We also started to get our other bits ready to go in like the shower base

The outdoor lights..

I forgot these from the previous post...

I like these much more than the coach lamps that came with the house.

The clearout continues...

The toilet and laundry are now ready to be started over again too.

Not very exciting as they are pretty blank but here are the pics anyway

Cupboards out ... tiles still in

Toilet comes out
Toilet for short people???
Laundry looking bare

The toilet and laundry too...

While we are renovating the bathroom we are also doing the toilet and the laundry.

Here are the before pics:

Noice!

Old and well used...

The broom closet

The outside door and sink

...and looking back the opposite direction

We are stripping these rooms back to nothing too ...

Baths, toilets and showers ... ooh my!

We went on down to pick out the parts we wanted to install from our local hardware store.

We got 2 new toilets, a new bath for downstairs, 2 new vanities, 2 showers and all the associated hardware we needed for this job.

Here are the iPics:

mmmm ... soft close seats!

We went for this model without the spa bits for downstairs...

Frameless screens for the showers

The downstairs vanity ... we really wanted the stone benchtops and undermount sink to match the kitchen.

Upstairs vanity 1800mm long

The downstairs shower rose

The upstairs shower rose (the bottom pic)

The upstairs bath is going to be free standing and we have found the one we want on ebay.  It looks like this:

free standing bath
and these are the spouts we want to use

Lets gets this party started!!

Day 2 - The downstairs bathroom...

Part of the idea in having a whole new bathroom was to start with a completely blank canvas.

The bathroom was downstairs and as such made it really easy to change items around however the layout we decided was really suitable and leant itself to our current lifestyle.

The room is now completely bare and we can start to see what we have to work with

No more bath

.. must've fallen through the floor!

Thise taps are going to need some moving..

Looks like a good spot for a shower!
Thats a much better spot for the mirror

Time to start planning for the bits to go back in.
